Your Halloween Hair Might Haunt You! 👻

A friendly warning from the people who will be fixing it in November.

Okay. Halloween is next weekend.

And before everybody starts spraying their hair pink, blue, black or whatever their costume requires...

WE NEED TO TALK.

Not all temporary colour is created equal.

Especially if your hair is blonde. Or highlighted. Or lightened. Or particularly porous.

Some temporary colour products can leave behind unwanted pigment, and certain formulas aren't recommended for lightened hair at all.

Which means that bright pink spray you bought for your costume?

Might not disappear quite as easily as you hoped.

And while we appreciate a creative Halloween costume...

We would prefer not to spend November discussing why your blonde is now slightly pink. 😂

And then there's the glitter.

Listen. We love sparkle.

But please make sure whatever you're putting in your hair is actually intended for hair.

Not every craft product belongs on your scalp.

And not every product that looks cute in a TikTok tutorial is going to be easy to remove.

So here's our Halloween hair advice.

READ THE LABEL.

I know. Groundbreaking.

But seriously. Check whether the product is suitable for your hair type and colour.

If you're using temporary colour, test it on a small hidden section first.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR EXTENSIONS.

If you wear extensions, be especially careful about adding temporary pigments or costume products.

We wouldn't recommend experimenting with anything that could leave unwanted colour behind.

And please don't use hot tools over costume products unless their instructions specifically say it's safe.

Want to know our favourite Halloween hair trick?

Sometimes the best costume hair doesn't involve changing your hair colour at all.

A great hairstyle. A wig. A little accessory. Some really good makeup.

Done.

Because you can absolutely have fun with your hair for one night.

We'd just prefer it didn't become a six-week commitment. 👻
